Updated CIC sales materials with latest claims stats now available
You may recently have seen some of our competitors reporting their CIC claims statistics for 2007. We’re pleased to see that industry-wide efforts to reduce non-disclosure are resulting in decreases in the number of claims being denied and increases in the amounts being paid out.
We’re also pleased to be the No.1 provider when it comes to paying out CIC claims:
- In 2007, we paid £110 million of CIC, almost a 20% increase on the amount paid in 2006
- We’ve paid over half a billion pounds in claims since 1996
- 88.2% of CIC claims were paid in 2007 compared to 83.3% in 2006
- Superior product - 35 critical illnesses covered (12 more than ABI guidelines)
This continuing positive trend for critical illness payments is a testament to the work that we’ve put in to reducing non-disclosure. In the past few months we have been at the forefront of the ABI changes to the way that all insurers view non-disclosure, with a view to paying out more claims as an industry.
